heh. in the midst of writing my introduction for my thesis and looking through the 2 inch stack of readings i've done to get my references as i am writing i just had a thought that academia is really fascinating.
it's a world in which people (big names no less) are pushing their viewpoint, doing research to prove that they are right and that someone else is wrong. and they fight via publications to show a world (that doesn't really care) that what they think is right.
how human. and how pointless.
but that's similar to how we christians fight over different doctrines isn't it?... how so and so's teaching is right and so and so is wrong (and therefore is a heretic??). now that's quite sad -- it's all about Jesus... not about how much you know
