and i miss the mountain already! haha. just came back from a 9 day ski trip. which incidentally was really drama injuries-wise. super fun though... braving the slopes and freaking out from the steepness =P and then the random entertainment from all the crazy people i got to know on the trip (i went with this whole bunch of seniors that i didn't know before!) lol. but i like mature ppl... more chill-time and self-amusement somehow.
so... we had about one major injury a day... here's the injury list... some more major than others:
2 dislocated shoulders
1 twisted ankle
1 twisted neck (this one was quite drama... she fainted outside the toilet at night)
2 strained knees (one of which was mine bleh.)
1 pulled muscle @ the thigh
many many many huge ass bruises
drama moments not involving injuries:
-cannot find people... wondering whether they crashed on the slopes
-someone's snowboard blew off the cable-car and they had to send a rescue team to retrieve it
-david's snowboard slid off piste and he had to go off the marked slope to get it
-couple of ppl went onto a closed slope by mistake - david fell headfirst and had to hitchhike back (with people who drove like madmen)
hilarity:
-playing the "007 bang" game and wesley farting when he finally got the action correct
-evelyn crazy moments (eg. random bursts of laughter)
-the variety show done by the instructors
-attempting to copy the instructors' performance at dinner
-my instructor playing around with puns... and making funny noises to make up for his lack of english... hehehe.
-the stupid ski lift operator (the button lift) who kept flirting with me each time i took the lift -.- dammit. no way i'd give that guy a kiss no matter how many times he asked though. tsk.
all in all a really really good trip!
so blessed. haha... made good progress from never-been-on-skis to being comfortable on blue runs and trying out a red run (on which i fell a few times)... =P after going up ski lifts and cable cars and skiing down relatively steep things (45 deg angles)... and seeing the view from the top. it's so amazing to think that faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains...
'saviour, He can move the mountains'
you just don't get the enormity of the statement until you're on a huge mountain and the steepness is trying to conquer you as you ski and navigate down. amazing yea.
i'll post photos and videos soon! (i just can't be bothered to write about the trip and have to edit html cos the photos are in the way)
